Oxana Shevel is Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science, Tufts University. Her research and teaching focus on the post-Soviet states surrounding Russia and issues such as nation- and state-building, the politics of citizenship and migration, memory politics, and the influence of international institutions on democratization. At present, Dr. Shevel is working on a new book project—a comparative study of the sources of citizenship policies in the new post-communist states. Dr. Shevel holds a PhD in Government from Harvard University.
